Across Sudan, some 37,000 homes were destroyed in the floods, forcing families to seek shelter with relatives and host communities. Another 39,000 houses have been damaged, along with 34 schools and nearly 2,700 health facilities

An estimated 125,000 refugees and internally displaced people have been affected in total.

The heavy rain continues to affect 14 of the 18 States, causing widespread floods and leading to an increasing number of casualties and damage and more than 3,000 houses destroyed or damaged, leaving an estimated 35,000 IDPs, locals and refugees in need of help, and where 15 people have tragically died and a further 23 gone missing.

Rains have been particularly heavy in North Darfur, and across southern States, particularly in East Sudan, White Nile, Darfur and Khartoum.
